Have you ever looked at the Bible and been overwhelmed by the expectations, commands, and laws that are in it? If we aren’t careful we can catch ourselves giving up because we feel that there is no way we could ever get close to knowing, much less following, everything we are supposed to.
In this new series called, “The buried life”, we are going to take a look at how Jesus sums up all the laws of the Bible into 2 profound commandments. Chapter 12 in the book of Mark is where we find Jesus in the middle of what the Pharisees think is the perfect trap. They asked Jesus which law is the most important. Jesus’ answer is so simple in form, but so complex and deep, that it takes our total commitment. He said to love God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. He goes on to say that we should also love others more than ourselves.
At our LIVE services we will look at what it means to love God with our heart, soul, mind, and strength, but also our students will be challenged to go out and practice it. By literally helping others on their campus, street, family, or their community we will get a grasp of what Jesus is commanding us to do. That is first: Love God; second: Love Others.
